Conduct Policies

Here at Alpha, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who attends, with a staff dedicated to creating a wonderful learning opportunity for every student.

Policies Regarding Harassment

We define harassment as any offensive verbal comments, especially related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion; bullying, intimidation, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Harassment at the workshop, or on e-mail lists associated with the workshop, will be considered unacceptable. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Continued misbehavior will be dealt with by consequences up to and including being taken out of the workshop.

If at any time you feel unsafe or unwelcome, we strongly encourage you to reach out to any member of the Alpha staff. We take all concerns seriously and are here to help, during and after the workshop.

Staff and Author Guest Code of Conduct

Our staff and author guests are here to provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment for all students. As well as abiding by the terms of our harassment policy, our staff members and guests are expected to prioritize the well-being of the students. Romantic or sexual overtures toward students, during or following the workshop, will not be tolerated. Misconduct will result in being removed and not invited back. We also do not invite as staff or guests those who have been accused of misconduct in other workshops.

We value the diversity of our student body, and we strive to ensure a wonderful experience for all students, regardless of age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, race, or religion.
