I am doing a project for my English class that requires me to find a piece written when the author was eighteen or younger, and I happened to stumble upon Emily Gilman’s The Castle That Jack Built and loved it. I’ve tried contacting her, to no avail. Is it know how old she was when she wrote this short story?

Hi Shelby! Unfortunately I think Emily was older than 18 when she wrote this story, but I’m sure she would be glad to hear that you enjoyed it.
